Alexandra Velian, assistant professor of chemistry, has been named a 2021 Cottrell Scholar by the Research Corporation for Science.

Annie Liu, a junior majoring in Human Centered Design & Engineering and minoring in Digital Art and Experimental Media, has been awarded the Adobe Women-inTechnology Scholarship.

Stacker News ranks the public schools that will maximize students’ educational potential. University of Washington is ranked No. 32, University of Washington Bothell is ranked No. 43 and University of Washington Tacoma is ranked No. 48.

The UW has been included on the list of universities that produced the most 2020-21 Fullbright students. This year alone, 24 UW students received Fullbright awards.

Sam Colgan, junior majoring in English and Economics; Natasha Lavides, sophomore majoring in Psychlogy; and Nuria Alina Chandra, freshman majoring in biochemistry are the 2019-2020 UW President's Medalists.

Smadar Ben-Natan, a postdoctoral fellow in Israel studies in the Stroum Center for Jewish Studies, Holly Arsenault, director of engagement for the School of Drama, and José Alaniz, professor of Slavic languages and literatures have all recieved recent honors.

Elese Washines, who studied mathematics at the UW, is the current program manager for the Yakima Nation Higher Education Program and featured as one of the Yakima Herald's 39 under 39.

Ian Kretzler, a Ph.D. anthropology graduate, and Samson Jenekhe, professor of chemical engineering and chemistry, have been recently awarded honors.

Ashleigh Theberge, an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, and Jodi Young, an assistant professor in the School of Oceanography, have been named 2021 Sloan Fellows.

Seven UW scientists were included on Cell Mentor's list of 1,000 inspiring Black scientists, including postdoctoral chemistry fellow Tam’ra-Kay Francis and Assistant Professor of mathematics Bobby Wilson.

Devin Naar, professor of history and Jewish studies, Melia Watras, professor of music, and Ted Poor, assistant professor of drums, have all received honors for their work recently.
